We Mermaids and Mermen wonder about your holiday called “Halloween”.
I can understand flower festivals, sunshine, and exalting the Creator, but what do humans get out of indulging in thoughts of death?
By “owning” and participating in it, do you assuage your innate fears?
Of course, the cute little costuming is one thing, but we Mers strongly suggest that everyone who is a sane, caring individual human be on watch all the time - and especially on Halloween - and to protect every being on our Planet.

I'm listing information on how to report any suspicious activity or cruelty of any kind, danger, or threatening behavior.
Holidays should be fun for every being.
We don’t like the loud noises, and most beings do not like them.
Meanwhile, let's find some fun ways to celebrate the fun aspects of Halloween!
Below for Healthy Halloween Treats.
Protect
Army for animals is a worldwide group of kids and adults who love animals and protect them.
By doing daily acts of heroism, by helping to spread the word about being kind to all animals, we make the world a better place.
Joining the army for animals is as easy as downloading a sticker, or placing a banner and link o n your site.
Everyone who loves animals is invited to become a part of this wonderful group, who fearlessly stands up for those who cannot help themselves.
Keep watch
Please use these links to report any cases of animal abuse you see or hear about.
Remember to find out the contact information for your local aspca or spca, in case you find a lost or injured animal, or in case you see someone being unkind to one

Report
If you see an act of cruelty to an animal, call 911 immediately, and report it. They will tell the animal control people, and it's great to keep the phone number of animal control handy for such emergencies.
The Humane Society is preferable, in cases of lost pets, because they operate o n attempts to keep pets alive, while shelters often are so overpopulated with animals that they euthanize, meaning they put them to sleep. Some communities do not have a local humane society, in which case, please contact your local aspca.

Adopt
If you hear of someone who is going to get a new pet, please encourage him to stay away from pet stores and from breeders - they cause much abuse to animals. Please ask him to adopt a needy dog or cat from the local shelter. It's so much better to save a life!
Get Fixed
Whenever you see someone with a pet who is not neutered or spayed, which means to fix them so they will not have to have babies, please ask the owners to get them fixed, since the millions of abandoned and unwanted overpopulations of dogs and cats cause so many to be eventually put to sleep at shelters.
If people get their pets neutered and spayed, then when someone wants to adopt a new pet, they can go to a shelter and rescue o ne, thereby saving a life!
This link will help you find low-cost and free getting fixed information!

Heroism
By protecting the helpless, by standing up for those who cannot speak for themselves, take care of themselves, or even communicate with us, we are doing heroic acts.
