Whales and Dolphins - Mermaid Blog 11909

Their size makes it impossible for them to hide. Their intelligence makes them know they deserve kindness. Their huge hearts know what love is and only give us compassion and want the same from us.
We all say we love whales. Love is action.
Please follow this link and help to change the tide for these most
helpless victims.

Of other beings, a wise human wrote: "We patronize them for their incompleteness, for their tragic fate of having taken form so far below ourselves. And therein we err, and greatly err. For the animal shall not be measured by man. In a world older and more complete than ours they move finished and complete, gifted with extensions of the senses we have lost or never attained, living by voices we shall never hear. They are not brethren, they are not underlings; they are other nations, caught with ourselves in the net of life and time, fellow prisoners of the splendour and travail of the earth."- Henry Beston

We Mers adore whales. Every specie of whale is a wondrous being, and I personally have many close friends among them.
Even Mers - and, yes, we are known for our beautiful voices - pause and luxuriate in the luscious tones of singing whales, stunned at the loveliness of their vocals, and fascinated by the ever-evolving songs. Creative songwriters, all whales are mult-talented and as intelligent as they are large.

Please help us protect them! You do know that their smaller brethren, the dolphins and porpoises, are also whales, don't you?
Dolphins, as other whales, also are quite wonderful dancers, as well as surfers.
We adore being near whales for the great vibrations (literal and figurative!) that they emanate.
Physically, just riding the bubbles they emit can be a blast!
And being tossed around in the currents the huge whales' bodies create is so fun!

But the soulfulness, the vibes that only a huge heart and deep, tender understanding can shine out like the light of an inner Sun, is the true measure of any being, isn't it?
And whales shine brightly!
Keep them safe!

Don't we all insist on kind treatment of the helpless? Demand more from our government. Sign -http://bit.ly/3ELo2v

The nature of compassion.
Why is it that "small men's complex" seems to have amplified among those who erroneously link cruelty with some sort of strength?
It's completely perverting the meaning of what being "manly" is, and yet the weak and simple-minded have somehow absorbed the corporate imperatives forced upon audiences by money-grubbing institutions who want to: split families in order to make sure that individuals are miserable. Why? Because miserable, empty, lonely people buy more gadgets, drink more alcohol, smoke more cigarettes, and cause more destruction, once again, meaning more sales.
Add to that medical drugs to stave off their depression, deprived of any meaningful relationships in life, these dejected and less-than-savvy consumers indulge in even post-adolescent male bonding that should have been left behind in junior high.
So, while the women and children are contained and constrained in the straight-jacket ideals of being stalwart, responsible, and essentially holding the bag while the men who would be boys hang out and play, the societal views perpetuated by the uncaring forces of marketplace propaganda lean toward the view that in order to have "fun", one must poke fun at weaker people, make fools of the opposite sex and view them as prey to "bag" and to use, and treat every helpless and needy being with anything but compassion.
To be strong, in reality, means to be kind to weaker beings, and bullying constitutes bad behavior toward someone smaller than oneself.
Once upon a time, anyone being cruel to a smaller or weaker or less able being, whether one's wife, child, or a member of another specie, would have been deemed a very low - and very unmanly specimen.
When did this - cruelty - become a source of sport for the demented?
It's easy to trace through the degeneration of TV shows, for instance, and in the downfall of spiritual strongholds like churches and schools, but how can we turn this around?
Stiffer laws against bullies and psychopaths, obviously, but careful monitoring of childrens' viewing habits would help.
And the widespread opening up of a dialogue on the subject - creating venues in which men can learn that the actual position of machoism is, and always has been, to protect the innocents and the weak.
As a Mer, I cannot fathom how some of your males, and even some of your females, have been manipulated into this type of stance.
Regardless whether someone eats meat or not, I'm very sure that all humans want and demand that innocent babies be treated kindly, no matter what the specie.
Please, for all of us - sign this and make sure these cruel people are prosecuted and the humane laws are upheld.
After all, cruelty to one weaker soul will always become cruelty to human children as well.
