Of other beings, a wise human wrote: "We patronize them for their incompleteness, for their tragic fate of having taken form so far below ourselves. And therein we err, and greatly err. For the animal shall not be measured by man. In a world older and more complete than ours they move finished and complete, gifted with extensions of the senses we have lost or never attained, living by voices we shall never hear. They are not brethren, they are not underlings; they are other nations, caught with ourselves in the net of life and time, fellow prisoners of the splendour and travail of the earth."- Henry Beston
We Mers adore whales. Every specie of whale is a wondrous being, and I personally have many close friends among them.
Even Mers - and, yes, we are known for our beautiful voices - pause and luxuriate in the luscious tones of singing whales, stunned at the loveliness of their vocals, and fascinated by the ever-evolving songs. Creative songwriters, all whales are mult-talented and as intelligent as they are large.
Please help us protect them! You do know that their smaller brethren, the dolphins and porpoises, are also whales, don't you?
Dolphins, as other whales, also are quite wonderful dancers, as well as surfers.
We adore being near whales for the great vibrations (literal and figurative!) that they emanate.
Physically, just riding the bubbles they emit can be a blast!
And being tossed around in the currents the huge whales' bodies create is so fun!
But the soulfulness, the vibes that only a huge heart and deep, tender understanding can shine out like the light of an inner Sun, is the true measure of any being, isn't it?
And whales shine brightly!
Keep them safe!
