World Tragedy in the Gulf Waters
Let me say that I was astounded that B.P. and the American Government, as well as every so-called phiilanthropic billionaire - as well as the State of Florida whose tourism industry makes over 65 Billion dollars every year - had not even by the end of the first week, let alone by the first day of the horrible spew, thrown everything they had toward the stopping of the flow and the clean-up.
Ocean played a clip from a news item for me in which a person was bemoaning the fact that it might take over 450 Million dollars to clean up what has happened. Only millions? It will take billions and billions of dollars! And what of money? Isn't this the way it was meant to be spent???? Why on Earth were they speaking of "cost" in a time like this???
Oh, yes, ...and it appears that the oil people waited until they could profit from this tragedy...how cold!
And the news people - only dwelling on the fishing industry???
What of the lives at stake!!! The helpless wildlife! The plants! The beauty! The safety of the elements!
Where is decency? Where is caring? Definitely NOT among Republicans whose sole purpose in life is to create and maintain profits and power - a Party of Sociopaths, which should be their name.
Don't you think they should be afraid of going to Hell? The lies they tell - constant lies told by the henchmen who lead the others - directing all the blame for the havoc they've caused to innocent factions! No wonder so many former Republicans finally see that party for what it is - a bald and evil group of self-serving sociopaths, at least at the helm. Decent ones will definitely depart the Republicans!

The Mermaid Ask All People To Help Horses Now!

You can give horses a second chance
While The HSUS and horse rescue organizations across the country work tirelessly to give every horse a second chance, thousands of American horses are still shipped across our borders each week for slaughter because the horse slaughter industry can outbid them.
Ask your U.S. Representative and Senators and to support The Prevention of Equine Cruelty Act (H.R. 503/S. 727). It will ban the barbaric killing of American horses for human consumption, including the export of horses across our borders for slaughte
Let's Give Horses a Second Chance
But one of the happiest sights I've seen is a once-unwanted horse blossoming in a new, caring home.
That's what keeps us working: shutting down horse slaughter plants and fighting to stop long-distance transport of live horses to their deaths in Mexico and Canada.
Let's work together to ensure that horses are sent to new homes, not the dinner plate. Learn how. Thank you for all you do for animals."

A Blue Moon? We Weren’t Blue At All and Neither Was The Moon!

You humans are so funny with your constant comparisons, weighings, judgements, and compartmentalizing!
And blue? It was lovely and golden!
Don’t you get tired of always thinking?
We Mers enjoy life far more than you seem to, and this Wintry day you have deemed your “New Year’s Eve” is no different to us than any other day, but for the fact that we deplore our noisy use of fireworks - we instead adore the stars and the heavenly sky. They are so marvelously beautiful on their own! No adornments, no other distractions needed.
We Mers eschew calenders, weights, measures, and other stupidities that only minimize your existence.
Is it your constant need to feel in control that drives your silly attempts at owning Nature?
No wonder you humans have such a need to dilute your days and nights with stimulants and alcohol!
What a waste!
Don’t you know that life is brief?
And so, so very precious?
And so, under the gorgeous full moon, we’ve stayed far from shore and your noise that frightens fish and ruins the sleep of all other animals including the humans who merely had wished to sleep through the cold night, and we’ve had a wonderful time, just living and loving under the very full moon.
Try being natural some time - you’ll love it!
